Delegated Authority

I believe we are living far below the standard of life that has been given to us by our Lord and Savior Jesus and as a result the enemy (satan) is wreaking havoc in the world today! As a born-again believer in Jesus, we have become a new creation. (2 Cor. 5:17) Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. When we are born again, we are no longer held captive by the law of sin and death (Romans 8:1-2). In (Jn. 10:10) Jesus said the thief cometh not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. Jesus came to earth to destroy the works of the devil (1 Jn. 3:8) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning, for this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. In both of these scriptures it is clear that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. Throughout the New Testament there are many examples of how Jesus destroyed the works of the devil. He opened blind eyes, healed the sick, raised the dead, cast demons out, set the captives free. Jesus commissioned the disciples in (Matt. 28:18-20).

18 Jesus came and spake unto them, saying All power is given unto me in heaven and earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.

Today if you are a born-again believer, you are one of Jesus’ disciples, and you have been commissioned too. What does it mean to be commissioned?

Commission 1. the act of committing or entrusting a person, or group, etc., with supervisory power or authority. 2. the authority to act as agent for another. 3. the condition of being placed under special authoritative responsibility or charge. As you can see by the definition this is no small thing that Jesus did when He commissioned His disciples. Jesus expects us to be busy about doing the same things He did when He was walking this earth. (Jn.14:12) Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also: and greater works than these shall he do, because I go unto my Father. What are the works that Jesus is talking about? that is found in (Mk. 16:15-20).

15 And He said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe: In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall speak with new tongues.

18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them, they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.

19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.

20 and they (disciples) went forth, and preached everywhere the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

(Matt.10:1)

1 And when he had called unto him his 12 disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.

(Matt. 10:7-8)

7 And as you go, preach, saying, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely you have received, freely give.

I believe we can clearly see through the Word of God, that Jesus has given his disciples, the born-again believing one’s authority over all the works of the devil and his demons.

(Lk.9:1)

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power over all devils, and to cure diseases.

Remember Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. What He did for the twelve He has done for us, because we too, are His disciples. Let this get deep down in your spirit, and stand up in the authority of the Lord, and push back the darkness that is trying to overtake you and your family. Enforce the victory that has already been won by our Lord and Savior Jesus over the kingdom of darkness in Jesus name!

Amen

Praise be to God
