The Prime Directive

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness is THE PRIME DIRECTIVE for all humanity. In our modern world, modern for today, at least, many Christians read this verse of Holy Scripture and nod in approval or agreement. There is a deeply internal agreement and desire for this Holy Scripture to be true in so many people’s lives, yet, today, it seems to be true in the living in nearly none of us. We neither understand the commitment necessary, nor do we have the strength of will to yield to the leading of Holy Spirit to live such a life. We desire the results, but we do not desire or dare to tread foot upon the journey. Do not the steps our Holy Father has ordered for us lead us to do so? Shall we not choose to walk in these steps our Holy Father has ordered for us?

Seek first the Kingdom of GOD and His Righteousness is the Prime Directive for all humanity. Until we understand and follow this one command from The LORD Jesus Christ, I wonder, can we really say that we love Him?

In the New Testament of the Holy Bible we are told:

John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

John 15:10 If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.

1 John 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.

1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

So I must ask, do we love GOD? Or do we just give lip service to loving Him? Do I really love GOD? Or am I just a hypocrite giving lip service to loving Him? As for me, I must confess the grievous sin of hypocrisy. I do not believe I have any idea what it means to truly LOVE Almighty GOD.

Holy Father in heaven, forgive me for such foolishness. For not understanding what it truly means to love You and keep Your Holy Commands, Your Holy WORD. Holy Father, teach me what it truly means to love You with all my heart, with all my soul, with all my mind, and with all my strength. Teach me what it truly means to seek first Your Kingdom and Your Righteousness. In the Name of my LORD Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.

All Scripture is given in the KJV.
