Can You Add A Cubit To Your Height?

Mat 6:27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?

Brother Jim’s Understanding:

1) But who among you, by anxious, careful, and fearful thought, has the ability to add one cubit (the measure from elbow to wrist) to your height?

Fear, worry, concern, anxiety. Can any of these things be helpful? No. Yet we spend so much of our time and so much of our energy on fear, worry, concern, and anxiety. What will I eat? What will I wear? What will I drink? How will I pay my bills? What if I get sick? What if I lose my job? What if the car breaks down? What if something goes wrong with the house? What if . . . ?

We need to be bigger, stronger, faster, more durable, smarter, more inciteful, etc.

But truthfully, who among us by giving in to this way of thinking in fear, worry, concern, and anxiety, can add one cubit (about 18″-22″) to our height? Can we make ourselves bigger than our problems by constantly worrying about them and being in constant fear of failure concerning them? We can’t even make ourselves one inch bigger by fearfully worrying about things, let alone a cubit.

Remember:

2Ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Solutions:

Isa 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

All Scripture is given in the King James Version, 1769
