Mat 6:24-34 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. 25 Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? 26 Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? 27 Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? 28 And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: 29 And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? 31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
We must be keenly aware that the Person speaking these words is the Son of the Living GOD, the WORD of God made flesh, the One by whom all things were made.
The WORD of GOD was made flesh in order to redeem whosoever would believe upon Him, and to teach us the Way of Almighty GOD our Creator, the heavenly Father of whosoever would believe. It matters not how we think the Kingdom of GOD should operate, or even how we think the world should operate; when the WORD of GOD proclaims the Truth of the Kingdom of GOD, He is telling us exactly how IT IS. It is our duty and our responsibility to choose to believe, to learn, and to live according to the words proclaimed by the WORD of GOD made flesh, our LORD Jesus Christ.
He is teaching us the Way of His Kingdom so that we may believe, and become a part of His Kingdom; learning to live according to the Way of His Kingdom. Our LORD Jesus IS the King of kings, and in His Kingdom, His WORD is Law. It is according to His WORD that everything operates, and it behooves us to learn, obey, and learn to apply His WORD to our lives so that we may become the blessedly joyful participants in His Holy Kingdom that He not only desires us to be, but that He purposely and lovingly created us to be.
As we learn to yield (living in loving agreement and obedience) to His WORD in our lives we will find ourselves having more peace, more joy, and more success. Think of it this way, if you will:
The LORD Jesus Christ is knocking at the door of each person’s heart. There is only one door to your heart, and the only handle to that one door is on the inside. Our LORD Jesus Christ, the King of all creation, is The Perfect Gentleman. He will never force His Way into your heart. He will wait patiently and lovingly outside the door until you invite Him in.
Many have actually invited the LORD Jesus Christ in to their heart. However, most of us have only let Him in the front door to the foyer, or maybe even invited Him to have a seat in the guest visiting room. Our life is a huge mansion filled with many rooms, but being the Perfect Gentleman that our LORD Jesus Christ IS He will never force His Way into any room, or even any part of any room, where we do not invite Him.
Our LORD Jesus Christ is the Designer and Creator of our heart, and our entire being. He knows how our life should look, the condition it should be in, and how to keep it perfectly maintained. He may even ask us about certain things in our hearts and lives that we would rather He didn’t, but He will never force His Way anywhere. Our LORD Jesus Christ will only go where we invite Him.
We may not like the work that needs to be done to get our house up to its full potential, beauty, and even glory; but if we desire to enjoy our house to its fullest potential, doesn’t it make sense to follow the directions and the Way of the One Who designed and created it?
With this in mind, let us stop viewing the WORD of GOD as mere moral teachings and good suggestions. Let us give the full weight, honor, respect, and loving obedience to the WORD of GOD that He deserves. After all, our LORD Jesus Christ IS The Way, The Truth, and The Life .
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
May we let our loving obedience to the WORD of GOD be the readily seen substance of the things we most hope for, the evidence to all (visible and invisible) of things not yet seen. And may the Kingdom of GOD come, and the Will of GOD be done in our lives here on earth, even as His Holy Will is done in heaven. For thus will the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness spread throughout this earth, to all the precious people who will be witness to our loving obedience and will choose to believe upon Him, our LORD Jesus Christ, our Precious Redeemer.
